Mind Savvy for Changing Your Inner Game

I invite you to check in on the beauty and abundance that ALREADY exits in your life, today. And I encourage you to mindfully tend the most important relationship you have?the one with yourself.

Good morning!

It was a GORGEOUS fall holiday weekend here in New England. Like, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most fab, the weather was a 12.

However, I managed to ?get? a case of the Grumpies on Sunday afternoon. And, late in the day, I was driving by the Audubon property that is about a mile from my house. (Audubon property is conservation land that is really awesome and beautiful.) And I decided to park and take a 10-minute walk. The picture posted with this bog shows a picture of my awe-inspiring view.

Well, short story is that by the end of the short walk, I was no longer grumpy. First, it?s super hard to feel grumpy when faced with that kind of majesty. Second, once I focused on my grumpiness, I was able to see it for what it was. And that leads me to some Mind Savvy? musings for ya.

Changing your life is about changing your Inner Game.

We often perceive that the pursuit of happiness is in getting the right job, the right romantic connection, a better house, starting a family, or a much-needed vacation. And all of those things might bring you some happiness. But lasting joy and contentment are found in changing your relationship with what already is, and with yourself.

This doesn?t mean that we spend our lives contemplating our navels, or that we don?t pursue goals that are important to us. It simply means that our happiness today (which is all that we have, in this moment)?lives in our mind. So, to truly change your life, you need to change your mind!

Yup. Change your mind. Let perfection go?it?s unattainable, so the pursuit lends to misery. Release the victim mentality?owning victim-hood always makes us feel…well, like a victim, which doesn?t feel good. Notice what?s right & beautiful?and take note, with gratitude. Embrace the process of forgiving?the short-term discomfort is worth the long-term ease. Lead with kindness (especially to yourself!)?kindness creates an entirely different lens through which to see your world than, say, criticism. Not that any of us are ever self-critical! 😉

Changing your Inner Game is certainly a process, not a prescription, and takes time, persistence, and a gentleness toward yourself. And holy moly, you?re worth the effort!
