I hope your January is off to a splendid start. After running four programs in as many months to finish out 2020, I took a breath during the days around the New Year to get organized around the wheels I put in motion during that wild, challenging year.
It’s hard to choose which to share today, as it seems there are a LOT of wheels (in motion). But choose, I will; here we GO.
Health Journey High-Fives
A big shoutout to all the participants that are currently rocking the January 2021 Body Sass® Cleanse Group Program! This go-round of the Cleanse had record registrations and an unusually high number of “mini-groups”—folks that are friends, family or colleagues that register together. This offers them a triple-layer of support: from me, from the entire group of participants, and from their mini-group. One mother and daughter joined, who live on opposite sides of the U.S., and the daughter sent her mom an Alexa unit so they could cook on video together! Now that’s some serious planning-for-success action. This is Day 12 for the group, so high-fives for staying committed and engaged…you’re past the half-way point!
Also, a thank you and congratulations to the 480 people that registered and participated in The COVID Well-Being Event: Health, Stress and Immunity. We had four great sessions, covered a lot of ground together, and I’ve received plenty of feedback about how folks are taking what they learned and using it to fuel their empowered well-being during some unusually challenging times. Bravo! Which leads me to….
Coming-Soon News (exciting!)
I have many new exciting projects and offerings that I’m working on for 2021. Today, I’m sharing two that are front-and-center for launch in late winter/early spring, that will offer you some great new opportunities for your health and well-being.
Seven years ago, I invested in an online learning platform. I kept it for 2 years and never used it because it turns out that creating a top-notch on-line learning experience is a ginormous project. I already had too many irons in the fire; I wasn’t ready.
After some 2020 research and planning, I invested in a NEW online learning platform at year-end and am now busily building the first online course. It’s an expansion of the COVID Well-Being Event topics and is a 7-module course called Health, Immunity and Stress Resilience. COVID is going to be around for a while to come, and the best defense is a good offense…and we always want strong immunity and health and resilience to life’s stressors, during the COVID pandemic, and beyond. My goal is to have this course available by the end of February, if not sooner. And I’ve already outlined several other courses and programs that will follow.
What exactly is an online course? It’s a learning opportunity that you can engage in on your schedule and at your pace. You can do a course in a day or engage with it over days or weeks or months. In my courses, I use multiple learning formats to better suit different learning types: a mix of video, narrated presentations, PDFs, quizzes, and QuickStart guides. And, online courses are typically a leaner investment for you than a personally led course or program. Lots of wins for YOU, the Empowered Well-Being seeker!
You can be the first notified when this inaugural course is ready, by getting on the list HERE. In addition to exploring how to create health, build immunity and develop stress resilience, there are also course modules on:
- creating health-supportive habits
- developing a self-care practice that keeps you at your best, and
- understanding and embracing empowered well-being
A rich and powerful learning opportunity! Register here to be notified early.
The website that you have known, loved and been served by for the last many years is ready to evolve, again. It asked me very nicely, and I said YES. Spring 2021, the new LaurieWarren.com—home of Empowered Well-Being—will blossom into your life along with spring flowers and cheerful birdsong.
There will be a new look and feel, yes, along with new opportunities for YOUR education, inspiration and empowerment. Some will be included in the new site upon launch, like the online academy mentioned above; others will roll out over the year. In the end, I’m looking to improve your online experience; to invite others to intentionally steward their health, resilience and wholeness; and to offer new opportunities for folks to learn, engage and evolve their well-being experience.
Although there is a boatload of work to be done before launch, I still feel like a little kid waiting for their birthday to arrive. Stay tuned!
Elections, Reflections and What-Is
Today is a big day in the U.S. as we finish the prior four-year term of presidency and welcome a new president. One of my favorite mantras during the volatile and polarized 2020 election year was this:
I’m less interested
in who you vote for
than I am in how you treat others
who vote differently than you do.
When President Trump was in office, I respected that fact that he was our elected president, even when I thought he was misbehaving or making what I deemed as poor policy choices. His election was a reflection of how the majority of people were feeling (voting is often determined more by emotions than by analytical thinking) and it’s hard to argue with what IS. This is our president, let’s unite and move forward.
While President Biden is in office, I will respect that fact that he is our elected president, even when he misbehaves (He will. We ALL misbehave; it just doesn’t make it on the national and worldwide news when you or I do.) or makes what I deem as poor policy choices. His election is a reflection of how the majority of people are feeling (again, emotions versus analytical thinking) and it’s hard to argue with what IS. This is our president, let’s unite and move forward.
Regardless of our political leanings, we can look at today as an opportunity.
We can disagree and still love each other. We can disagree about who should be president, and still work together toward united goals. And as I wrote in a previous post, we agree on far more than we disagree; but the disagreements make a better news story.
I recognize that the presidency is kind of a big deal; but in a democracy there are a WHOLE lot of other elected officials amongst whom the power is distributed. And, the president is one person and we are 255,000,000 voting adults. Let’s take this opportunity to focus less on the one presidential person and more on our We-the-People goals for how we want to live, work, play and love together. Let’s focus less on who we voted for and more on our shared humanity.
I am hopeful that we can acknowledge What-IS and…unite over the things we care about; protect our freedoms, democracy and planet; and make large strides toward equality for all. Opportunity is always there, waiting for the right conditions to bloom.
