Good morning!

Welcome to March. Spring is just around the corner and daylight is getting longer every day. Woo-hoo! Spring, for me, lends to thinking about new beginnings. For those in colder climate areas, winter can seem very long by March. Looking out at the cold grey & white landscape, it?s sometimes hard to imagine that in one short month, there will be hints of green, and flowers peeking out, and birds singing in the morning like their lives depend on it.

But yes, the snow of winter insulates the plant roots and provides water for growth, allowing a whole new landscape to develop in spring. Spring is beautiful and welcome, because of what winter brought to the table. Well, if that ain?t Soul Food waiting to be shared, I don?t know what is!

Winter to spring?and so it is in life. When you hit a tough spot on your Life Journey, or when you ?fail? at something, sometimes its hard to imagine that your life will brighten again. That you?ll make it through. But often, it?s actually better on the other side of that tough spot or ?failure.? You see?

The true losers in life are not those who try and fail, but those who fail to try.

The road to each success is most often dotted with failures. These ?failures? are PART of the eventual success. For example, Thomas Edison?s teachers said that he was ?too stupid to learn anything.? He was fired from his first two jobs for being ?non-productive? As an inventor, Edison made 10,000 (!!!) unsuccessful attempts at inventing and creating a commercial light bulb. When a reporter asked ?How did it feel to fail 10,000 times?? Edison replied, ?Yo, homedog, I didn?t fail 10,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 10,000 steps.? (Okay, he didn?t really say ?yo homedog,? but that would?ve been funny.)

So, congratulations if you?ve failed, because you are now smarter and one step closer to success! You see, we often thrive, not IN SPITE of what ?failures? or obstacles we encounter, but BECAUSE of them. The important question, always, is ?what did I learn?? At the end of the day, whatever you face, you have a choice: ?will I be blocked by the failure, or will I advance through and over it??

Obstacles and ?failures? are simply stepping stones on your Path. And, engaged with mindfully, they can become the most important stepping stones you?ll encounter. Work, relationships, parenting, creating?this philosophy can serve you everywhere. Simply taking this concept and allowing it to color areas of your life that seem hard, or where you feel you?ve ?failed,? can create a major paradigm shift in your Life Experience?and how much you truly live, and reach your goals, during that Experience.

The food you eat builds your body, every day, for better or for worse.? Make choices for health!

With love & learning,
Laurie
